Job Description

GDIT is currently seeking a System Administrator to support our Justice Programs customer in Quantico, VA. Candidates must have an active Secret with SSBI or Top Secret Clearance.


  • Secret with SSBI or Top Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of network or system administration, including VPN management.
  • Ability to configure and deploy server builds.
  • Linux shell and windows/AD scripting.
  • Experience with creation and management of VMWare-based virtualized servers. 
  • Experience with Linux (Redhat, and/or CentOS) administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and general windows administration.
  • Some experience with documentation and IT policy/process capture as well as dissemination across a heterogeneous environment.
  • Must have desire to learn new skills and work with new technologies.
  • Experience working in a government environment.
  • Proficient in the use of all programs included in the Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Experience with implementation and design of networks.
  • BS in technical discipline such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Math or equivalent experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Security, Microsoft or LINUX Certification.
  • Experience with EquaLogic SANs or FreeNAS
  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as .NET or Java.
  • Vmware ESXi experience
  • Experience deploying mission critical systems, internal or on customer site.
  • Experience optimizing environments for high performance.
  • Experience with planning for disaster recovery.
  • Experience with enterprise applications like Apache, IIS, Team Foundations and Glassfish. 
  • Experience with databases (MSSQL and MySQL).
