The Systems Engineering, Integration and Design Manager is expected to have experience with the design, engineering and integration of a system, product or service.  Successful candidate is expected to provide a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of hardware and software components. The Systems Engineering, Integration and Design Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers to create integrated solutions across the enterprise.  


  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Computer Science or IT related discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading various teams in a scaled agile environment utilizing a modern DevOps approach to deliver value to the customer
  • Experience working with stakeholders, suppliers, solution train to align architectural direction with Solution Architects
  • Establishes architectural runway with Solution Architects
  • Establishes architectural guidelines for solution design, performance, and usability with Solution Architects
  • Refines and optimizes systems specification in the solution intent
  • Self-managed, strong self-organization skills, and eager to contribute

  • Experience working with federal government clients, subcontractors and stakeholders
  • Assists in identifying the needs of internal and external customers and addresses their concerns
  • Performs duties with opportunity to exercise initiative, independent judgement and discretion under minimal supervision.
  • Provides management oversight:
    • Ensures team is working cross functionally with solutions architects and developers to design applications and systems to deliver end-to-end mission solutions and maintain the integrity of the system-of-system enterprise
    • Communicate daily regarding progress with team members
    • Recruits and develops the technical talent required to support a complex enterprise environment in support of the mission.
    • Proactively work with program management team to ensure that appropriate staffing resources are assigned, put in place, and effectively utilized at the appropriate time.
    • Oversees the design and integration of new development and enhancement efforts, and coordinates cross functionally
    • Responsible for the overall system integrations of applications and frequently interacts with internal and external business contacts.
    • Responsible for the technical integrity while providing technical guidance to clients and team
  • Provides technical oversight:
    • Aligns technology approaches across the ART
    • Functions as a technical expert who provides management and leadership in the design, systems engineering and integration of technology-enabled applications, products and services within a technical environment
    • Perform evaluations and feasibility reviews of creative concepts and technology solutions.
    • Act as a point of technical escalation and resolution during the project lifecycle as it relates to technical decisions
    • Determine and provide a necessary level of technical documentation during requirements gathering, based on technical services group standards and procedures and discussions with project staff, industry experience, and technical vendors.
    • Peer reviews technical documentation to ensure high quality and accuracy
    • Provide technical consultancy to department staff and participate in business development efforts including proposals, development plans, and presentations, as directed.
    • Ensures an intentional design is implemented which supports development, delivery and deployment of capabilities into operations on multiple environments
    • Ensures rapid delivery of capabilities
    • Ensures technical debt is minimized  
  • Engages in concept planning:
    • Provide input into the design, re-design and development of technology products and applications.
    • Assist with designing and evaluating new features and capabilities
  • Experience with AWS services
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly
