Job Description

Join General Dynamics Information Technology and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges.  We are looking for a Systems Administrator with experience in RHEL and Oracle for the Air Carrier Analysis Support System (ACAS) at Scott Air Force Base, in O'Fallon, Illinois. 

ACAS is essential to providing an integrated operational analysis capability for safety analysis of accidents and incidents, operations, maintenance, financial analysis, and service quality information for both domestic and foreign commercial air carriers supporting DOD. ACAS provides users the ability to pick from numerous capabilities within the system such as scheduling, CRAF, queries, data collection, and reports. GDIT provides sustainment and enhancement services for ACAS.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent + 2 years’ experience in related field
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE)


Responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems
  • Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces, and all system-level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution
  • Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems
  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements Provides technical support on local systems replication and systems issues
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces, and all system-level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution
  • Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems
  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements
