Job Description

Sustainment Automation tasks in support of DMC/SASMO

Respond to trouble tickets and requests for unit maintenance or training from 1 TSC and its supported Commands. If customer issues cannot be resolved, coordinate between all Logistical Contract partners, CENTCOM partners, and local commands (1 TSC, ARCENT, FORSCOM, AMC, DLA, USFOR-A, HQDA, RFI-TV, VSAT, JCR-LOG, TC-AIMS II, MC4, and ACN).

Possess expert knowledge, skills and technical abilities in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation on hardware/software configuration, troubleshooting procedures, user guides, network architecture, and trouble ticket problems and resolutions. Create the process and technical apparatus that generates trouble tickets and generate status reports on a daily basis with weekly roll-ups. Responsible to provide guidance across the USCENTCOM AOR on all facets of the SASMO operations.

Monitor and manage the operation of Camp Arifjan Radio Frequency – In – Transit Visibility (RF-ITV) Combat Service Support Automated Information System Interface (CAISI) network. Monitor system performance, prevent system failures, reconfigure network, and respond to system alerts and outage notifications. Provide analysis, assessments, and recommendations to identify trends and improve reliability and availability of the RF-ITV CAISI network. Provide network status reports on a daily and weekly basis. Must be comfortable in providing expert analysis for installation, de-installation or modification across the USCENTCOM AOR.

Must possess the ability to validate and test all Software Change Packages (SCP) on an expert level.   Assist units with IAVA compliance and perform software updates on assigned equipment within 30 days of PEO-EIS release. Updates include new baseline software, vendor patches and anti-virus definitions.

Possess expert knowledge, skills and technical abilities in the development and implementation of Combat Service Support/Very Small Aperture Terminal (CSS/VSAT) or closely associated satellite communication network cyber security program to include developing programs aimed at educating users on information security policies and procedures, requirements, architecture, and incident response.

Advise and assist unit personnel on the use and implementation of Logistical Information Systems (LISs) throughout the theater. Assist with pack up, load out, and setup of CSS/VSAT and associated devices. Additionally will work with the LIS TPE Manager and the 401 AFSB TPE team to enhance 1 TSC mission in the CENTCOM AOR.

Advise, assist and train unit personnel in the performance of organizational level maintenance consisting of Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), fault/failure diagnoses, servicing, adjusting, as well as the replacing of parts, minor assemblies, and subassemblies of LIS.

Using data gathered during assistance visits, provide analysis, assessments, and                recommendations to improve current processes and procedures.

Assist with the planning, tracking, and distribution of TPE LIS hardware and software upgrades. The contractor will maintain a current computer database (Excel or Access) of all LIS computers (at a minimum, the database will include serial numbers, Unit/Command, and POC) accessed through an asset visibility roll-up from GCSS Army. This will be reported within 10 days after distribution and thereafter upon request.

Brief senior level audiences as required.

Attend LIS working groups and organizational meetings and provide administrative and technical guidance as needed.

The contractor will provide support (6) six days per week, on-call (7) seven days a week   with a response (call back customer) telephonically within (2) two hours (including holidays, both U.S. and Local government). Based on workload or during periods of surge conditions, the contractor may be required to provide support for up to 72 hours per week. Physical response to customer site will be made within (4) four hours in Kuwait and within 72 hours for critical problems as defined by the COR in the remainder of CENTCOM AOR (unless constrained by force protection and transportation availability).

Site Assistance Visits: The contractor will be required to visit sites across the CENTCOM   AOR in order to provide support to the customers as mission dictates and per request by the units. There may be rare occasions that require travel outside the CENTCOM AOR. This will be coordinated through the PM and approved by the COR. The contractor will prepare an After Action Review (AAR) submitted to the Technical Monitor and COR, 5 working days after completion of site visit.

The contractor will maintain currency in all technical skills areas and will take the appropriate steps to become proficient in the newly defined SASMO role (ZA1) outlined in GCSS-Army.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Possess a minimum of eight years of hands-on technical experience diagnosing and fixing technical problems associated with Combat Service Support/Very Small Aperture Terminal and Combat Service Support Automation Information Systems Interface.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of network concepts, PC configuration, and fault analysis.
  • Current industry certifications required to meet DoD IAT Level II Certification Requirements as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M (CompTIA Security + Microsoft 70-698).
  • Must possess at minimum a SECRET security clearance.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and pull/push carts weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Must be able to teach, operate, and troubleshoot multiple LIS platforms.
  • Must meet the technical requirements for SASMO as laid out in ATP 4-0.6 (Brigade), 4.93 ESC (Draft) and 4-94 TSC.
