Job Description

  • Develops advanced technical solutions for he management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures, including  network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers.
  • Uses advanced knowledge in evaluating existing network systems and planning long-term strategies to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements.
  • Installs, supports and/or maintains LANs and/or WANs; evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades with expert level knowledge and no supervision. May provide advanced guidance and leadership to less-experienced personnel with supervisory responsibility. 
  • Strategically designs, installs and maintains the network system for multiple classifications and coordinates their use with great autonomy. Considered an emerging thought leader in this process.
  • Critically monitors network performance. Utilize advanced knowledge to troubleshoots and resolves extremely complex problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
  • Uses advanced knowledge in maintaining operating efficiency and stability, ensuring the security and integrity of all systems and data, and develops technical solutions to highly complex problems.
  • Demonstrates mastery in professional discipline which typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Establishing operational plans for job area. Developing and implementing new products, processes, standards or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results. Requires communication with leadership but works without supervision. Work is considered vital to the organization. May mentor less experienced peers and display leadership as needed.

BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of experience.

Recommended Certifications: Network+ or equivalent (MCSA, CCNP and ITIL)
