Job Description


GDIT has an opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative candidate to join our team supporting the Administrative Office of the US Courts (AOUSC) Case Management Systems Office (CMSO) in Washington, DC. The CMSO has a mature AGILE practice.

GDIT provides full software development lifecycle support for a variety of highly complex business critical systems, including COTS and customized solutions. Our support includes program and project management, business requirements analysis, solutions architecture, and software engineering. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and synthesize user requirements, including understanding existing procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement workflows that model existing business processes using Jira issue and project tracking system.
  • Design and implement Jira customization including custom forms, fields, issue types, and views.
  • Perform general Jira administration and configuration, including user management.
  • Create Jira reports and dashboards.
  • Implement integrations between JIRA and other management systems, including Confluence.
  • Create and maintain Confluence collaboration sites and provide Jira/Confluence support to project team.
  • Basic SQL Administration and query writing tasks.

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’ degree plus 8 years of related professional experience.
  • Expertise configuring and maintaining Jira and other process management systems.
  • Ability to understand existing complicated Jira configuration and impact of new configuration changes.
  • Provide sound advice on process based on Jira capabilities that can be achieved iteratively with minimal impact on product delivery.
  • Experience working with Jira’s workflow design tools.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical contributors to develop clear, testable requirements.
  • Experience defining, documenting, and refining new and existing business processes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time under a heavy workload and collaborate with disparate sets of stakeholders.
  • Familiar with Agile values, principles, processes, and methods such as iterative and incremental development, continuous integration, test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, code refactoring, pair programming, and Scrum ceremonies.
  • Solid knowledge of Portfolio Management and ability to marry tools with process.
  • Experience with service desk/help desk approaches in an emerging agile environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be effective at communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences. Must be able to clearly explain concepts.
  • Leadership skills is a must, should be able to lead Governance meetings and work with Government staff to manage configuration changes to Jira
  • Energetic, goal oriented, proactive, detailed oriented, innovative, hardworking, and patient.
Preferred:
  • First level Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM and/or PMI-ACP).
  • Process improvement methodology certification (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
  • Experience with EasyBI, Portfolio, and other JIRA plug-ins.
  • Familiarity with other tracking tools such as HEAT, TFS, and ClearQuest.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products including SharePoint and Teams.
  • Some knowledge of development environments and scripting using languages such as experience developing scripts using languages such as Python, bash, Powershell, Ruby, .NET (C#), Visual Studio, JavaScript/JQuery, CSS, HTML, XML, or SQL.
  • Experience developing data flows between software systems.
  • Experience developing and consuming services via web APIs.
  • Well versed in a variety of agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean at a minimum).
  • Experience providing training, to include Just In Time (JIT) training, to support new projects and teams.
