Please take this opportunity to join one of GDIT’s US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) program.  We are a cutting edge program supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) collaborative information environment for intelligence sharing with allies and international partners. We are a global team with multiple locations in the U.S. and abroad supporting U.S. Combatant Commands mission critical or episodic operations. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for working with cutting edge technologies, learning new things, and solving real world issues that impact U.S. National Security. 

You will be joining a new, agile digital transformation initiative to improve the program’s global effectiveness, increase operational visibility into its IT assets, and drive cost savings by implementing the full range of Servicenow capabilities, to include ITSM, IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Business Management (ITBM), Security Operations, dashboards, and automation and orchestration.  The Sr. Solution Architect will lead the cross functional coordination to ensure the Program achieves their stated critical objectives with Servicenow: Reduce IT operation costs, Improve the Service Desk User Experience, Improve First Contact Resolution, Enhance Asset Management, and Improve Change and Release Management.


  • Lead delivery of program’s mission goals through Servicenow implementation.
  • Act as the primary resource advising the program’s enterprise-wide, prescribed, Servicenow implementation, which includes collaborating with key stakeholders to validate and set Servicenow implementation approach for program.
  • Lead coordination with internal stakeholders and facilitate the program’s “reach back” with GDIT corporate technical subject matter experts (SME) to obtain specific knowledge or expertise to address service governance, process, and technical issues.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on essential enterprise governance requirements and support oversight where directed.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to current ITSM-related challenges understand organizational transformation objectives and guide the assessment of current service maturity, definition, and supporting toolsets that result in making recommendations to change and/or enhance program service delivery through servicenow.
  • Contribute thought leadership (methodology, presentation, and whitepapers) as needed to ensure that all available technical solutions are available to the customer when making critical decisions for the platform.
  • Provide recommendations on technical resourcing and subcontracting to best meet program objectives.
  • Responsible for leading the analyzing and translating business information and technical requirements into solutions that align to Servicenow out of the box capabilities and consider current and future configurations, requirements, mandates or platform upgrades.
  • Support the team in Servicenow operations like User/ Group administration, reporting, Metrics, SLAs, etc.
  • Leverage both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems.
  • Communicate with the customer in non-technical terms, understand their business requirements, and provide suitable solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, training and leadership to the technical delivery team.
  • Work on continuous improvement and consistency by sharing experience and knowledge within the team.
  • Respond to or coordinate response to technical questions and research requests from stakeholders. Perform business case analysis to support decision making process. Build and maintain relationships across all GDIT business units to ensure alignment with program capture, program execution, and other line of business services.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a cross functional team.
  • Ability to lead projects & provide technical oversight to ensure alignment with strategic goals & objectives.
  • Maintain technical proficiency by keeping current with the latest technologies, trends, standards, & products.
  • Ability to formulate a digital transformation vision, make critical business and technical recommendations, and lead adoption strategy conversations with Senior and Executive-level customers.
  • Build & maintain relationships with key vendor partners to identify, monitor and incorporate industry & vendor best practices.


Required Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of experience required. 
  • Must possess and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio and Project)
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle utilizing agile principles and application.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills and ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Extensive experience in the consulting industry, technical leadership, and/or service delivery support.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial products/solutions, especially COTS software application products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS SCI
  • Servicenow certifications and/or strong familiarity with platform, to include, experience delivering servicenow projects.
  • ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation certifications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of DoD information technology systems, tools, process, or organizations.
  • Firm knowledge of DoD/IC, Agile, DevOps, and Lean requirements, methodologies, and toolsets, and/or application development platforms
  • Experience with requirements management, JIRA (or similar RTM platforms)
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and visualize solutions for emerging concepts.
  • Prior experience developing solutions across the ServiceNow platform that leverage the automation and integration capabilities of ServiceNow.
  • Prior experience implementing and deploying the core suite of ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Domain Separation).
  • Relationships in the Servicenow business and technical communities.
