Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Hosting Infrastructure Director for our Healthcare General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) program at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in Windsor Mill, MD.  The Hosting & Infrastructure Director will lead the GDIT Hosting Operations Team in the successful Operations & Maintenance of the HIGLAS Infrastructure, including the management of two Data Centers – Production in Culpeper, VA and Disaster Recovery in Austin, TX.

This role will lead a team that provides hosting, infrastructure, and technical support for Oracle Applications, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Oracle Hyperion and Application Management Tools including a foundation of IT Service Management (ITSM) through the use of the ServiceNow application.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing 99.90% or > Availability, for the HIGLAS Production environments including all required tools to monitor and maintain production operations and security.
  • Managing 99.90% or > Availability for the HIGLAS Disaster Recovery Environment.
  • Reviewing and technical assessment of all new hosting and infrastructure special projects and potential impact to the HIGLAS infrastructure and application during the design and implementation phases.
  • Guidance and participation in the HIGLAS Technical Review Board (TRB) and Change Review Board (CRB).
  • Participation in the HIGLAS Program Impact Assessment Board (IAB).
  • Possess and provide clear technical vision and prioritization of all hosting and infrastructure initiatives to ensure stabilization and continuous service improvement.
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining Technical deliverables and work products.
  • Preparing and conducting Technical briefings for GDIT Leadership, CMS client management and Executive Leadership.


  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training and work experience (Or a Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience in related field of requirements).

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ year’s previous experience in a Hosting & Infrastructure Director role.
  • Previous experience managing a large infrastructure and team comparable to HIGLAS.
  • Experience interfacing with senior level clients of an organization.
  • Experience working with vendors in managing and escalating of service requests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of the components of an infrastructure, including the network configuration.
  • Previous experience managing facility requirements for data centers.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in an infrastructure or hosting Solution Architect role.
  • Experience leading a transition from data centers to a Cloud solution.
