GDIT has an opportunity for a Senior Configuration Management Specialist to provide high quality and enterprise level Configuration Management support on GDIT Solutions for our customers, partners and GDIT team members.

We are seeking a Senior Configuration Management Specialist who possesses excellent Change and Configuration Management skills and knowledge.  The Senior Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for the change and release management in support of network operations and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Change Control and Configuration Management processes and procedures
  • Track all changes in network operations and infrastructure
  • Ensure all changes to the baselines go through the appropriate change boards
  • Manage the change process so that only approved and validated changes are implemented in production
  • Prepare and schedule Configuration Management meetings
  • Facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and activities
  • Provide Configuration Management planning and support to the team
  • Create and maintain Configuration Management documentation
  • Knowledge of automated CM tools to implement Configuration Management procedures and processes
  • Provide configuration status accounting
  • Conduct and participate in physical and functional audits
  • Implement Configuration Management practices
  • Recommend improvements to existing configuration and change management procedures.
  • Track and prepare configuration item history and status reports, and CM metrics
  • Maintain baseline configurations
  • Audit the CM document library, and assist in implementing audit recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 plus years of experience as a configuration management professional
  • Good proofreading and editing skills
  • Experience facilitating meetings between business partners and stakeholders desired
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with diverse users and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint for developing documentation and presentation materials
  • Ability to adhere to established timelines, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with tools such as RemedyForce, SharePoint and the Microsoft Office suite
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation
