Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking BMC Remedy System Administrator who holds active DOD Secret clearance at Gunter Annex in Alabama.

Job Responsibilities:

  • BMC Remedy System Administrator responsible for all technical software requirements, database changes, metrics reports, and training.
  • Provide functional expertise on matters related to BMC Remedy Action Request (AR) system, Business Object Enterprise (BOE), and Lyris server used for messaging.
  • Participate in database requirements analysis for BMC Remedy AR system and turn functional requirements into programmable database changes.
  • Develop and modify BMC Remedy custom workflows, data entry forms, and overlays.
  • Perform software upgrade requirements to BMC Remedy, BOE, Remedy Web (Mid-Tier), and reporting tools.
  • Perform functional testing, installation, configuration, and integration.
  • Develop training documents and provide functional training through classroom and individual training.
  • Develop BMC Remedy (AR) system technical documentation, functional user guides, and 'how to' instructions.
  • Support meetings, reviews, demonstrations, and conferences.
  • Create metric report and statistical information reports using BOE.
  • Create and modify BMC Remedy macros using query language.
  • Manage Lyris server to ensure accurate distribution of messages.
  • Knowledgeable of Windows platform servers and perform security patch updates.


  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • 5-10 years of directly related experience in systems administration, analysis, and software development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Experienced with BMC Remedy and the skills that will keep it current and requirements for upgrading.
  • Creating reports for metrics analysis using SQL
  • BMC Remedy v7.5 and Remedy server v8.0.

Unique/Additional Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level I certification (CompTIA Security+ CE at a minimum)
  • BMC Remedy administrator or support engineer certification (desired).
