Job Description

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the overall performance of all task orders assigned
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all contract operations.
  • Ensures recruitment, placement, retention, and utilization of personnel of appropriate skillets and experience are aligned with, and execute the responsibilities of, organizational roles as described in the PWS. 
  • Works closely with the government program manager in establishing project objectives, plans, and budgets
  • Provides program technical direction with respect to hardware and software definition, design, development, test, implementation, and maintenance for the specific customer site
  • Identifies future technical requirements
  • Develops strategies to provide the required technical related resources in a timely manner in order to meet the DoD mission
  • Provides guidance and advice on the design, development, fielding, and maintenance of telecommunication and weapon systems
  • Represents the project at senior level technical briefings
  • Identifies technical personnel requirements for new program positions
  • Reviews capabilities of potential new hire technical expert candidates to ensure they meet job requirements
  • Oversees the application of corporate and Government policies and procedures at all program locations
  • Solicits feedback from the top leaders/managers in the customer community to determine the quality of performance of the USAFE A&AS program, and takes the necessary action to correct any deficiencies
  • A current Top Secret (TS) clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI).


Experience in DoD technology related Program Management, including hardware and software development, test, and deployment. Desired, but not required, skills are experience in managing large (>100 people) multi-functional organizations working on DoD projects and interfacing with high-ranking Government and military officials.

Requirements Level I:

Ten years of Program Management experience in DoD Programs.  Current Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional, Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II Program Management certification.  Must have demonstrated practical experience in the area(s) of expertise required in the Task Order, Performance Work Statement.

Level II = Level I with 3 additional years’ experience

Level III = Level I with 5 additional years’ experience
